Suspended Animation is an exhibition focusing on recent developments in animation and digitization in contemporary art, which have been used as a tool to question and expand conceptions of the human body. From the digitization of identity to the impacts of virtual reality on physical experience, the exhibition focused not on the representation of reality by technology, but rather on the phenomenological effects of technological advancement on human consciousness.
The show traveled to Les Abattoirs, Toulouse: 'Suspended Animation. À corps perdu dans l'espace numérique', where three more artists were added to the list.
Artists:
Ed Atkins, Antoine Catala, Ian Cheng, Josh Kline, Kate Cooper, Helen Marten, Agnieszka Polska, Jon Rafman, Avery Singer
