Jeremy Deller

Neue Kunst Halle St. Gallen Publishers

2004

The British artist Jeremy Deller portrayed the village of Appenzell on a musical level thus showing a cross-section of the social plurality of a Swiss mountain village. Equipped with a simple microphone and a recording device, Deller recorded musical formations in Appenzell, from dulcimer to church choir, from punk band to grunge. The results of his research were published on a record, the accompanying booklet documents the musicians in picture and text.
